A large home with a large personality, this contemporary home located in Balito is designed to maximise views of the ocean. It gains its integrity through its spatial honesty, its contextual sensitivity, and its ability to adapt according to its macro (surrounding) and micro (Clients) environments.
Project Type: Single Residential Architecture
Architectural Style: Contemporary House
Location: Balito, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
The home not only allows for extensive views of its environment, but also opens up to them. In this way, the external and internal interfaces that define the boundaries of architectural spatiality become blurred, and the Clients are given the choice to either actively participate with their environment, or become passive observers. Comfort and freedom are key; and through these fundamental aspects, the clients can achieve happiness and a sense of belonging within their environment.
This design is one of the proud projects undertaken by Gottsmann Architects in Durban
